Come Together with Carers Count Calderdale

On 11 June, Carers Count Calderdale were delighted to bring together older carers (aged 50+) and young adult carers (18–25) for a fun and energising day at the Kings Centre, Halifax. The event was a fantastic opportunity for carers of different generations to connect, have fun, and try out a range of inclusive sporting activities – including curling, indoor golf and cricket, darts, a keep-fit session, and a very lively Dance and Smile session!

In addition to the physical activities, there was a strong focus on healthy eating, with information and encouragement to support wellbeing at every age.

This intergenerational event was made possible thanks to generous funding from Age Without Limits. Their support enabled us to create a memorable day that celebrated ageing, challenged ageism, and highlighted the value and strength of carers of all ages. It was a day to remember—full of smiles, shared experiences, and a strong sense of community.

Thank you to Age without Limits for funding this day of activity with our carers – your support made it all possible. Thank you to Active Calderdale for supplying water bottles and t-shirts.
